As the year comes closer to an end, I like to reflect back on all the things that I have been through the entire passing year that made me the person I am today and played the biggest part in the growth of my life in any way possible. Normally, these are the things that I jot down writing the important highlights of my year as a yearly journey in the form of a blog note so that I can look back at my adventure of a year to see what I have accomplished, learned, where I travelled and other important days (moments) to remember.

So if you are reading this, I’d like to welcome you to my year’s journey, “Journey 2015”.

Firstly, I am happy to say that this year was a marvellous year for me. The Journey 2015, i.e. the year 2015 was a mixture of everything for me. From dancing, photography, writing, studies, good and bad times, I had it all! Well, that’s what the journey is all about, and this is what makes the journey fascinating. I mean you cannot expect to live the same moment every day and love life, how boring that life could be! As I say, it’s all about the journey! The journey of everything that happens in between. The journey of living which counts the most.

I learned so much about life, myself, family, friends, etc. that this life seems to be great learning. I started to feel the whole different meaning of love, appreciation, and happiness. And I started to connect to my soul and myself.

I have been blessed with some incredible and beautiful highlights of the Journey 2015. I will cherish them for a lifetime. Writing these highlights, I am feeling so proud of myself!

So, here are the highlights of my Journey 2015 in no particular order:

  • GANPATIPULE | Travel Diary:

A small visit to Ganpatipule turned out to be a good two days exploration trip with my companion - Camera (Canon 600D). A good stay at Fern Courtyard Resort. I had fun exploring Jaigad fort, Ganpatipule, Ratnagiri Fish Museum and side point. I travelled almost half the Konkan Region, and the whole Ratnagiri District I guess.

  • PERFORMANCE at NAGPUR - Vasantrao Deshpande Hall:

The three days dance tour trip to Nagpur was amazing. The fun in the Duronto Express (a train which boarded us to Nagpur) and the stay at the Eastern Sports Club was a good time. And, the lovely Performance at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall. These are the memories that I will cherish lifelong.

  • FIRST PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORK:

I did my first ever Professional Photography work, “The Step Up by Johnnie Walker”. It is India’s First Digital Mentorship Programme in which I was the only Photographer and a younger person among all the artists, cast and crew. I covered all the episodes, in general, the entire show that included Fashion, Food & Music. Thanks to Globosport for giving me this opportunity. This was indeed a big thing for me as a Photographer because I always wanted to try something apart from Street Photography (the style I love to do). So, it’s a dream come true.

  • PERFORMANCE at CHANDIGARH - Chitkara International School (2 long Performances back-to-back):

Cover Photo: Performance at Chandigarh - Chitkara International School

Staying for two days at Hotel SKY in Chandigarh, my excitement to perform here was already on Sky. I was all set to kill it on stage. So the back-to-back 2 Performances at Chitkara International School was fly.

  • PERFORMANCE at AMRITSAR - Punjab Naatshaala (4 long Shows back-to-back):

The next stop from Chandigarh for almost four days was Amritsar. The stay here in Amritsar was fully protected and secured as we lived in an Army Compound. Seeing so close the life of an army/soldiers and the stuff they use, made this stay an extra special. Also, exploring the beautiful places of Amritsar made this dance tour, unforgettable.

Cover Photo: Visit to the Golden Temple

Visited the beautiful Golden Temple with my buggers (friends) three times both in day and night. In a day the temple was full of people, but in a night every corner of the temple was visible. The place looked a beautiful sight. Sitting by the water with friends and watching the temple by staying late at night. Oh! How amazing it was! The feeling of calm and everything in between is the feeling that I can’t even express it in words. I had a great time of my life.

We also visited Jallianwala Bagh. Then the visit to India-Pakistan Wagah Border on Sunday evening. What an experience it was! The Sunday is the only day when the border door gets open, and people from both the countries gather and share the love. I was one lucky bugger to see this happening live in front of my eyes. The security was so tight. Unfortunately, the camera wasn’t allowed. It was so good to see the love between the borderline. On one side, Indians; on the other, Pakistanis. It is a military display unlike any other in the world. Witnessing the soldiers, I got some positive energy in me, and I was all set for my Performance the next day.

Performance Day, time to do what I was here for! I had four back-to-back long Performances in a day at Punjab Naatshala. The energy was all high, and I killed it every time I stepped on stage. All in, this dance trip was truly a blessing!

  • DELHI, HAZRAT NIZAMUDDIN | Travel Diary:

Cover Photo: Delhi - Travel Diary

This was part of the Punjab dance trip. From here we headed further to Chandigarh and Amritsar. A few hours spent here outside the Hazrat Nizamuddin station and at the market site was a good time.

  • TRAVELLING in RAJDHANI EXPRESS | Childhood Wish:
My childhood wish came true travelling in Rajdhani Express, during the Punjab tour. Dang, the fun I had on this train with my team and the music jam we had, I couldn’t have asked for more! God is great!
  • The writing hobby started turning into a passion. I began writing poems too.
  • I wrote my first ever poem titled “Yeh Zindagi” (in English “This Life”) on June 28, 2015. This poetry is very special and close to me. I love to call it as a soul poem because the poetry defines the word 'life' and what it is exactly.
  • I wrote and published 4 poems in Hindi and English language.
  • I published 12 writings on my blog including this one and the 4 poems.

  • GOA | Travel Diary:

The last-minute three days trip to Goa with cousins and relatives was another fun travel to cherish. I explored so many places, forts, beaches, temples and churches.

Forts: Aguada Fort, Chapora Fort
Beaches: Anjuna, Calangute, Dona Paula, and Vagator Beach
Temples: Mangeshkar Temple, Shantadurga Temple
Church: Old Goa Church, Famous Museum of Christian Art
  • Lost my mobile while travelling to Goa. The mobile that was there with me for almost 5 years, it was no longer. This was a sad moment because it was like a best friend to me!
  • The second half of 2015 was a busy year with my TY BSc I.T. studies. Because of this, I missed some performances and travels. I felt sad about this, but that’s life.
  • Got the All-Round Student Award on Achiever's Day in College!

  • And many more things that happened on this Journey 2015. I am glad and love this life.
Thank you to all the people who were a part of this year’s journey. And to all those who are loving, and supporting from the start, you hold a special place in my heart. It’s not that you think of me, but I think of you as well. And I keep on expressing this love through my art.

The year 2016 is right around the corner. I am more excited, and I have been waiting for this year for so long, especially because this is my birth-date year. I have this deep feeling inside me that 2016 will be my year. I don’t know, but whenever I get this gut feeling in me, it always happens. Let’s see!

Right now, I want to live last few hours (moments) of Journey 2015 before the calendar changes.

And, here’s to the “Journey 2016” with many more highlights to come and hoping 2016 will be far more better than 2015. Cheers!

P.S. Happy New Year 2016! Here's wishing everyone love, happiness and peace.

Cover Photo: What a beautiful morning! - Ronak Sawant

As usual, started my day thanking God for this beautiful life! Got ready, took my bag and stepped out of my home for a college lecture. This 15 minutes journey to college started with a positive thought, “Today is going to be a good day”. Enjoying the early morning walk with a packet of Marie Gold biscuit in my hand, loving the morning refreshing air with every step I take, and biscuit I chew. Watching the sun shining bright, listening to the birds singing in their rhythm, looking at traffic signal lights and looking at people's eyes who were passing by from my side, trying to find what they are up to and trying to read their mind. Yes, I was in a trance.

With every step I take and the biscuit I eat, there was something beautiful happening and passing. I realised that this day is not as usual. I saw three strangers enjoying the early morning newspaper at a Chai Tapri (a tea-stall) and having fun. The city cleaners were doing their job right by cleaning the city and making it beautiful. The two young boys may be more than 20 years of age holding their fingers and walking by the road! Some people were already at the start of their day job while some were on their way.

My 15 minutes journey to college was about to end. I kept the remaining biscuits in my bag, took out an ID card, and kept it in my pocket. Then from a distance, I saw two homeless kids, a boy and a girl holding each other’s hand running by the footpath and enjoying the beautiful morning. Just when I reached the college lane, I saw a friend from a distance coming through me being busy on a cell phone. He was walking back home. He also saw me and just when I reached him, he started saying, “I was trying to call you to inform you that the lecture is cancelled and there will be no lecture today”. Listening to this, I slowly whispered, Oh Fu*k! But at the same time, I was happy about it. But, my friend wasn’t happy. He was like, “the teacher should inform us a day before about this”. I responded, “Hey chill, it is okay! Bas samajle ke early morning walk ho gayi,” (Think that you did the early morning walk, that’s all!).

Another friend came. Standing on a roadside, we spoke for almost an hour. We chatted about life, the final semester B.Sc. IT project and much such stuff! I was happy that the lecture got cancelled. Because of it, we were talking like aliens on a roadside. While chatting, I witnessed a beautiful moment happening on my right side. The man was giving bread to the stray dog as if the dog is his son. I smiled looking at this moment. I felt the love around me.

After standing and talking for almost 1 hour, we left doing the handshake and saying bye to each other; taking three different directions as 3 of us had a different road to take. I started my journey again but this time back home. The streets started filling up with vehicles and people. Then after walking some steps, I see a woman on a bus stop waiting for a bus, and there was a stray dog right beside her. When I reached closer to her, I observed she was moving her right hand with care on a dog’s back, like as if the dog is her baby. The love was all around me this morning. Next, I see a crow drinking the water from a bowl filled with water placed outside the window on the first floor of a building. It was kept especially for all these beautiful birds. My heart filled with love watching this! Mix emotions started running inside me.

The last thing which I viewed is another extraordinary moment. I had tears in my eyes this time. I see my dad walking on his way to the office. The fact that my eyes got filled with beautiful water because it is his hard work that inspires me every day! Sometimes I wish I could be as hard-working as him. I said to myself, “this is the kind of father I hope to be someday”. The hard work dad does for the entire family is more than just an inspiration. I reached him, had a small chat, and then left saying bye. I somehow managed my best to control my eyes filled with water. But I think dad read my eyes.

Today, for the first time in life I realised this seriously that time once gone can never come back. I wish I had carried a camera along with me so that I could have captured all these beautiful morning moments and shared with you all. But never mind, I have shared this all writing a complete blog on it. I believe that the best photographs/moments you carry are in your eyes. This all just made my day and filled my morning with full of love.

Life is all about the priceless moments and little things. That's what makes me happy. We become so busy in life sometimes that we forget to see all these small little beautiful things happening around. So, I request you to stop for a while and have a look around yourself, see what beautiful is passing by and grab hold of all the things that you are losing by running this never-ending rat race; for once gone it shall never come back. You may earn a million someday and live in a fancy house, ride in a posh car, but how about a walk with that special someone holding an ice-cream in hand and all the crazy-silly talks. If this isn't the life, I don't know what is then!

Truly! What a beautiful morning! What a journey it was and what a day!
